WORKING VISIT OF THE MINAT IN THE ADAMAOUA REGION

The Minister of Territorial Administration Atanga Nji Paul is in the Adamawa Region for a working visit from September 12-14 2021.

He will be visiting the camps hosting Central African Republic refugees in Mbere Division in Djohong and Borgop to evaluate the situation on the field. Upon his arrival on the 12th, he met with religious leaders of the Christian and Muslim communities concerning the 'Collège de Mazenod' where Imam in a press release called on parents of Muslim students attending the school in Ngoundere to withdraw their children due to the substile form of evangelism where students are to put on the school badge that has a cross on it. To this effect, the imam of the Ngoundere Central mosque Imam Mahmoud in a press release on September 9, 2021, considered it as contrary to their religion which almost resulted in an incident. The Minister of Territorial Administration Atanga Nji Paul convened a dialogue with the two parties where, he met with Bishop Emmanuel Abbo and his collaborators in the school and later the Lamido , Imam and their aids at the Governor's office. Minister Atanga Nji insisted on tolerance and warned that, there is no religious problem in Cameroon which is a state of law. He revealed that, in case of any situation it should be brought to the attention of the competent authorities who will work in synergy.
