CELEBRATION OF 135TH INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY 2021 ON THE THEME ‘WORKERS' HEALTH AND FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19 IN MINAT: STAKES, CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES

The Ministry of Territorial Administration kicked off  the celebration marking the 135th edition of International Labour Day with a conference/debate at the Yaounde town hall on Friday 30, 2021, under the theme "workers' health and fight against covid-19 in Minat: stakes,  challenges and perspectives".

The objective of the debate was to show that, with the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic the health of workers was very important and had to be guaranteed for a better output. The conference/debate was chaired by the Secretary General of MINAT Edoa Effa Yves Christian representative of the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul. Three presentations were made and discussed by the assembly. The first presentation was made by Mrs Angele Ndzie Ntsama director of Human Resources under the theme: "workers' health and the fight against Covid-19 in MINAT: stakes, challenges and perspectives". The second presentation was done by Dr. Ndzana louis de Gonzague Director of Territorial Organization under the theme" administrative authorities and the fight against covid 19 in MINAT: stakes challenges and perspectives" . While, the third presentation was done by Mr. Serges Andzama sub- director of administrative Affairs in the department of political affairs under the theme "civil liberties under the test of covid-19 pandemic". According to the various presentations there was need to respect barrier measures prescribed by the government through social distancing, wearing of facemask and hand washing. A projection was equally made on the handing over of anti covid-19 gifts across the national territory by MINAT boss.  After the animated debate was a word from staff representative Nkolo Elvis who gave a brief account of the situation of workers in MINAT as far as corona virus pandemic is concerned with no death case recorded so far. The Secretary General  closed the conference /debate  by thanking the three panelists and those present. He further made  a call for every worker in MINAT to do corona virus test regularly so as to protect their families, friends, collaborators and society because the impact of covid-19 is disastrous.
