The first biannual Governors conference for the year 2021 is holding at the Yaounde city council from June 14 to 15, 2021. The two-day conference have as theme" Decentralisation and Public order". 

Presiding over the occasion Territorial Administration Minister Atanga Nji Paul in his opening remarks stated, "That, from the global assessment presented in the various reports of the governors one can testify that the security situation nation-wide is under control. But there are still security challenges in the various administrative units". The Minister through this statement challenged the regional governors and security forces to do everything possible to maintain order as well as protecting persons and their property.  He also urged the governors to sensitise citizens on the respect of Covid-19 barrier measures and go for vaccination, which is vital to curb the spread of the virus. He added that the governors should enhance the decentralisation process that is already on the move. Meanwhile, the security situation in the North West, South West, East and Far North need to be monitored closely, he extended congratulations to security forces for their patriotism and determination with one major huddle to surmount which will be the Total African Nations cup in Cameroon.  Minat equally used the opportunity to congratulate the associations of bike riders in Douala, Garoua, Maroua and Bamenda who have taken the initiative to support the government in the process of identifying all drivers and owners of bikes in some cities.  He therefore made a clarion call on all regions to emulate such examples of responsible and patriotic citizens. The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence, in charge of the National Gendarmerie Galax Yves Landry Etoga and the Delegate General of National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele, presented their exposes on the ssecurity in the country. Before the Governors, present their reports on the state of affairs in their different regions at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel, they will follow an expose by the Minister of Agriculture and rural Development  on elections to hold in the Chamber of Agriculture in the regions.
