Ahead of the Ramadan feast and Ascension Day to take place this week, by Muslim and Christians faithful’s, the Minister of Territorial Administration Atanga Nji Paul on Monday May 10, 2021 granted audiences to three religious communities.

He handed to each representative the Head of State’s anti Covid-19 package comprising of 10,000 facemasks. His Lordship Jean Mbarga, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Yaounde besides thanking the Head of State told the press that this was an opportunity for him to relaunch the campaign against Covid-19 as well as to sensitise Christians to remobilise and respect barrier measures.The Minister equally took off time to discuss with the Muslim delegation where he handed to them 10,000 face mask given by the Head of State. Cheikh Oumarou Malam Djibring who headed the delegation voiced to the press that all mosques in the national territory were going to respect barrier measures prescribed by the government as this will mark the end of the secret month of Ramadan where faithful’s are to round up in good health and feasting. Finally, MINAT’s audience with Reverend Pastor Bessala Mbesse Secretary General of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, EPC, and co-moderator of the Marie Gocker Parish Yaounde drew the curtains on the series of audiences.  After exchanging with the MINAT boss he disclosed to reporters that, with the upcoming ascension day to be celebrated on Thursday May 13, 2021, Christians were going to be sensitised on the respect of barrier measures in churches by wearing face masks, respecting social distancing and washing of hands.
